Cheri DiNovo, MPP for Parkdale – High Park, has a proven record of fighting to make life more affordable for her constituents.
In her years as MPP, Cheri has been extremely influential, making headlines with her Living Wage Bill and Payday Lending Bill – legislation that would reduce the burden on low-income families by increasing minimum wage and imposing a maximum interest rate on payday loans. She is also active with the Toronto Association of Business Improvement Areas which works to eliminate burdensome taxes on small businesses.
Putting her money where her mouth is, Cheri donates her pay raise to a variety of charities every year. She also supports local environmental groups in demanding that Ontario invest in public transit and renewable energy instead of maintaining coal plants or building nuclear projects.
Cheri lives with in Toronto, Ontario with her husband Gil Gaspar. She is the proud mother of two children.
