If Ontario is doing so well – why are so many people falling behind?
Some 443,000 Ontario children live in poverty. Thousands of families are waiting for basic necessities of life like affordable housing and child care. And autistic children continue to go without the treatment they need to learn, grow and prosper.
New Democrats stand up for our most vulnerable citizens. We believe in an Ontario that holds limitless opportunities for people – and prosperity that can be shared and enjoyed by all citizens, because everyone matters.
Dalton McGuinty promised positive change. Instead of progress, we’re seeing the same old approach – too many people in our wealthy province falling through the cracks, being left to fend for themselves.
Helping our most vulnerable citizens – now there’s a fresh idea. Let’s build that affordable housing. Let’s create more child care spaces. Let’s provide treatment to every autistic child who needs it. And let’s stop the clawback of the National Child Benefit Supplement – which robs $1,500 a year from our poorest children.
