NDP Leader Howard Hampton today issued his condolences to the family of York Region Detective Constable Robert Plunkett, who was killed Thursday morning in the line of duty.
“Whenever we lose a police officer, it is a loss for the whole province,” said Hampton, a former attorney general who worked closely with police.
“Our police officers work tirelessly to make our streets safe and protect Ontarians and their families, and on days like today they need our support,” he said.
“We mourn with Detective Constable Plunkett’s loved ones. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, as you struggle with your loss and grief.”
