NDP Leader Howard Hampton said New Democrats are putting Dalton McGuinty on notice: the time for excuses is over and it’s time to start making lives better and more affordable for working families.

“Ontario's working families want more good jobs, not more manufacturing and forestry layoffs. They want minimum standards of care for our seniors in long-term care homes, not the Health Minister in a diaper. They want a fair property tax system, not a deadbeat government that won’t pay its bills. They want help for autistic kids and an end to child poverty, not more empty rhetoric. They want good clean government, not gutter politics," Hampton said.

"Working families need a change of government policies and New Democrats will be working hard throughout the coming session to do just that,” said Hampton.

Hampton said a key goal this session will be standing up for working families - to make their lives better and more affordable. One way New Democrats will do that is to fight for the implementation of the NDP’s three-part jobs program including Buy Ontario legislation, a manufacturing tax credit, and the immediate investment of federal funds in hard-hit manufacturing and forestry communities.

"On these issues and so many more - this legislative session - working families can count on the NDP to stand up for them and fight for real results, not more McGuinty broken promises and empty rhetoric," Hampton said.
