Biography:

"It’s time working families got a fair deal. Dalton McGuinty’s record has been one broken promise after another. But he still found time to give himself a $40,000 pay raise. That’s someone who has lost touch with working families. We deserve better.

"I’m proud to stand with Howard Hampton – a leader who is upfront, honest, and principled. You know you can count on us to stand up for seniors, children, parents, and working people.

"This time, ask yourself ‘Which leader and party can I count on to fight for a fair deal for working families?’

"I hope I can count on your support on October 10."

From his work as an environmental activist and expert on workplace safety, to his job as a Sault Star journalist, Peter Denley has been there for Algoma-Manitoulin.

He has been an advisory committee member for the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of the Environment, and been involved in numerous initiatives, like the East Algoma Recycling Committee and the Lake Superior Trout Advisory Committee. Throughout his committee work, Peter’s goal has been the protection of Algoma-Manitoulin’s natural heritage and environmental well-being. He is also co-chair of the local branch of Ducks Unlimited.

Peter works for Canada Post, writes a regular column for the Sault Star, and is an instructor with the Ontario Federation of Labour’s Workers’ Compensation Training Project, teaching employees about their rights when it comes to safety on the job.

Peter and his wife live on 25 acres, south of Echo Bay, where they raised their two adult children.
