Biography:

"It’s time working families got a fair deal. Dalton McGuinty’s record has been one broken promise after another. But he still found time to give himself a $40,000 pay raise. That’s someone who has lost touch with working families. We deserve better.

"I’m proud to stand with Howard Hampton – a leader who is upfront, honest, and principled. You know you can count on us to stand up for seniors, children, parents, and working people.

"This time, ask yourself ‘Which leader and party can I count on to fight for a fair deal for working families?’

"I hope I can count on your support on October 10."

Joan Corrigan has lived in Lindsay for the last 12 years, when she moved there with her husband and her two young sons. Joan immediately felt at home in the area, as she had spent summers there as a child and teenager working at her parents’ cottage resort near Minden.

Since moving to Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock in 1995 Joan has committed herself to local issues. In 2002 she helped found the City of Kawartha Lakes Health Coalition to protect and preserve our health care system from privatization and decay. She has also volunteered with the Dunsford Community Centre, the Canadian Mental Health Association, the Canadian Cancer Society, and the Community Development Council of Durham. She currently volunteers with Telecare Lindsay and is a member of the Durham Food Charter Task Force.

As the next MPP for Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock, Joan is committed to standing up for the working families of her community.
