"It’s time working families got a fair deal. Dalton McGuinty’s record has been one broken promise after another. But he still found time to give himself a $40,000 pay raise. That’s someone who has lost touch with working families. We deserve better.
"I’m proud to stand with Howard Hampton – a leader who is upfront, honest, and principled. You know you can count on us to stand up for seniors, children, parents, and working people.
"This time, ask yourself ‘Which leader and party can I count on to fight for a fair deal for working families?’
"I hope I can count on your support on October 10."
For Ken Cole this election is about fairness for the working families of Mississauga South. It’s about standing up for the environment, for public health care, and for a strong public education system.
Ken is strongly opposed to any plan to reactivate Lakeview Generating Station as a garbage incinerator, "clean coal" or gas-powered station. He is also opposed to plans to build an incinerator at Winston Churchill and Lakeshore.
The NDP has a real, clean, green energy plan for Ontario that doesn’t include polluting coal-fired generators or nuclear power plants.
Ken and Ontario’s NDP are committed to supporting Mississauga city council in its efforts to undo the problems caused by municipal downloading of services from the province. It is time for Dalton McGuinty to pay for his fair share of costs and take social programs off the city property tax base.
Ken is the President and Business Agent of the Communications, Energy & Paper workers Union of Canada Local 333. He represents workers at 38 different workplaces in a variety of industries.
Ken has lived with his partner Jane in the Lakeview area of Mississauga South since 1995.
