"It’s time working families got a fair deal. Dalton McGuinty’s record has been one broken promise after another. But he still found time to give himself a $40,000 pay raise. That’s someone who has lost touch with working families. We deserve better.
"I’m proud to stand with Howard Hampton – a leader who is upfront, honest, and principled. You know you can count on us to stand up for seniors, children, parents, and working people.
"This time, ask yourself ‘Which leader and party can I count on to fight for a fair deal for working families?’
"I hope I can count on your support on October 10."
Carolyn Blaind is committed to improving the lives of Northumberland-Quinte-West’s working families.
A long-time social worker, Carolyn is program manager of Access Community Services. Carolyn is responsible for the well-being of developmentally challenged adults who live in a number of group homes in the area.
Carolyn’s extensive experience as a social worker and group home manager has given her a rare insight into the challenges faced by Ontarians with special needs, and the residents of long term care homes and group homes.
Carolyn is particularly concerned about the crisis in Ontario’s care homes. She knows that Dalton McGuinty’s failure to provide resources and to legislate standards of care is putting the health of our parents and grandparents at risk. She knows that the McGuinty Liberals’ failure to effectively fund care for developmentally challenged adults is forcing families to find spaces for them in personal care homes totally unsuited to their needs.
Active in her community with the Help Centre of Northumberland and the Bewdley Legion, Carolyn has volunteered in the past as a Scout Leader, a figure skating coach and a hospice care worker.
Carolyn is proud to have raised her three grown children in Northumberland-Quinte-West and is looking forward to standing up for the working families of her community at Queen’s Park.
