“It’s time working families got a fair deal. Dalton McGuinty’s record has been one broken promise after another. But he still found time to give himself a $40,000 pay raise. That’s someone who has lost touch with working families. We deserve better.
“I’m proud to stand with Howard Hampton – a leader who is upfront, honest, and principled. You know you can count on us to stand up for seniors, children, parents, and working people.
“This time, ask yourself ‘Which leader and party can I count on to fight for a fair deal for working families?’
“I hope I can count on your support on October 10.”
Sid Ryan cares about our community because it’s his family’s community too. Since making Durham Region his home 28 years ago, Sid, Sheila and their three daughters have been active in our community, our neighbourhoods, and our schools.

As Ontario President of CUPE, Sid helped launch the landmark court case that stopped the sale and privatization of Hydro One. In 2006, Sid fought for thousands of retired workers against Dalton McGuinty’s threat to the Omers pension fund.
Across the province, Sid has earned a reputation as a prominent voice for progressive policies and is a well-known commentator.
Sid Ryan and the New Democrats have been clear and consistent in fighting to keep vital services like education, health care and hydro in public hands and protecting our environment.
