"It’s time working families got a fair deal. Dalton McGuinty’s record has been one broken promise after another. But he still found time to give himself a $40,000 pay raise. That’s someone who has lost touch with working families. We deserve better.
"I’m proud to stand with Howard Hampton – a leader who is upfront, honest, and principled. You know you can count on us to stand up for seniors, children, parents, and working people.
"This time, ask yourself ‘Which leader and party can I count on to fight for a fair deal for working families?’
"I hope I can count on your support on October 10."
Born and raised in Ottawa, Ric Dagenais and his wife, Jane, are proud to have raised their three children in the community. Ottawa-Vanier is where Ric lives, it’s where he grew up and it’s a community he is proud to have the opportunity to represent.
Ric is the treasurer of the Ottawa CUPE District Council. As a workers' advocate Ric is an organizer with the National Day of Mourning Ceremonies for workers who have died on the job. He also chairs the Ottawa Labour Day Parade organizing committee. Ric has represented municipal workers across Ontario as Chair of the Ontario Municipal Employees Coordinating Committee and was a member of CUPE Ontario's Executive Board.
Ric is active in his community as the treasurer of the Rideau Canal Celtic Cross Committee, which erected a monument in the riding commemorating the workers who died building the Rideau Canal, and is active as a board-member for the Ottawa Carleton Credit Union.
Ric is especially concerned about the working families of Ottawa-Vanier who have fallen through the cracks in Dalton McGuinty’s Ontario. On most Saturday afternoons, you can find Ric volunteering as a food handler in the soup kitchen on Murray Street and he is a Director on the Board of the Shepherds of Good Hope.
Ric is committed to the working families of Ottawa-Vanier and is looking forward to representing them at Queen’s Park.
