Biography:

“It’s time working families got a fair deal. Dalton McGuinty’s record has been one broken promise after another. But he still found time to give himself a $40,000 pay raise. That’s someone who has lost touch with working families. We deserve better.

“I’m proud to stand with Howard Hampton – a leader who is upfront, honest, and principled. You know you can count on us to stand up for seniors, children, parents, and working people.

“This time, ask yourself ‘Which leader and party can I count on to fight for a fair deal for working families?’

“I hope I can count on your support on October 10.”

Barb Millitt was born and raised in Sarnia. She is an active member and Chairperson of the Victims of Chemical Valley (VOCV). Working with fellow activists, workers, widows and family members since 1998, Barb leads the fight for fair compensation for diseased and injured workers, as well as for the prevention of occupational disease.

As the chair of VOCV, Barb has had the honour of working for the Sarnia and District Labour Council, the Occupational Health Clinic for Ontario Workers and the Workers Health and Safety Centre. Together, they all work on two very special annual events, the International Day of Mourning on April 28 and the Links to Life banquet in mid-November.

Barb has been a guest speaker at numerous Occupational Health and Safety conferences, bringing her expertise on occupational disease to Canadians.

She has led several successful protest rallies and news conferences held at Queen’s Park, bringing her message of justice for Sarnia – Lambton workers, widows and family members fighting for fair compensation.
