On behalf of the Ontario NDP Caucus and the members of the Ontario New Democratic Party, I would like to wish the Sikh community Vaisakhi Di Lakh Lakh Vadhai Hovai Ji.

The Sikh community has made enormous contributions to help build a stronger and more diverse Ontario while continuing to be true to the teaching of the Gurus. The Sikh community has worked to ensure that all Ontarians are equal regardless of race, religion, culture, gender or economic class. The NDP shares this philosophy and will continue to work towards respect, equality and understanding for all Ontarians.

The Sikh message of Vand Chakkna – our collective responsibility for each other – speaks to our shared goal of strengthening our communities, province and country for the benefit of future generations.

I extend to you my best wishes during this special time of the year. I also look forward to participating in the Annual Vaisakhi Nagar Kirtan.
