Timmins-James Bay MPP Gilles Bisson's has introduced two private member's bills. These two bills form a strategy to protect consumers from gas price gouging by freezing gas prices when they reach certainlevels and by creating a watchdog to investigate gas price rip-offs.

The two bills are Bill 91, The Keep Your Promises at the Pump Act and Bill 105, The Keep Your Promises on the Gas Price Watchdog Act. Both bills represent broken Liberal promises.

Whereas Ontario's motorists continue to be subject to wild fluctuations in the price of gasoline,

Whereas the McGuinty Liberal government continues to fail to live up to their promises to protect Ontario's drivers from unfair gas prices,

Whereas gas price regulation could stop gas price volatility, eliminate opportunistic price gouging and deliver fair, stable and predictable fuel prices,

Whereas gas price regulation is the law in every Eastern province except Ontario,  

Whereas jurisdictions with gas price regulation have seen an end to wild price fluctuations, a shrinking of price discrepancies between urban and rural communities and lower annualized gras prices,

I Petition the Ontario Government to create a provincial gas price review board to determine the price for all gas stations across the province, taking into account the market cost of product, legitimate transportation costs and fairness to consumers.
