Ike shouldn’t mean gas HIKE!

NDP MPP Gilles Bisson wants to know why Dalton McGuinty continues to allow big oil companies to gouge Ontario drivers.

“Hurricane Ike is no excuse for a 13-cent overnight gas hike. Ontario drivers know there is something wrong when they are forced to pay huge price increases. It’s about time the premier stood up for drivers, and did something to stop these gas-price rip-offs,” said Bisson, who serves as the NDP’s Transportation Critic.

NDP calls for McGuinty government to come clean on Blue 22

NDP Transportation critic Gilles Bisson called on the McGuinty Liberals to come clean on their plan for the proposed Blue 22 air-rail link between Union Station and Pearson Airport.

“Decisions like this shouldn’t be made under the radar and in the backroom. The people of York South-Weston have been very clear – they do not want the privately-run, publicly-subsidized Blue 22 air-rail link. Why is an anonymous ‘government source’ telling the citizens of York South-Weston that construction may start in early 2009?” Bisson asked.

Horwath wants to 'Fast Pedal' law for bicycles on buses

MPP Andrea Horwath has put the wheels in motion to make it easier for cyclists with bicycles to use regional public transit across Ontario.

The Hamilton Centre MPP will introduce a private members bill to eliminate an obscure section of the Public Vehicles Act that prevents transit buses with bike racks from crossing municipal boundaries.

York South Weston NDP MPP Paul Ferreira after just three short months at Queen’s Park, scored an important victory for commuters and communities along the GO Transit Georgetown Rail Corridor.
