Parkdale High-Park NDP MPP Cheri DiNovo supports the Clean Train Coalition’s request to have the provincial ombudsman investigate wasteful spending at Metrolinx, the agency responsible for regional transit in Ontario.

On Thursday, September 24, the Ontario legislature will debate Bill 198, a private member’s bill tabled by NDP MPP Cheri DiNovo that would allow municipalities in Ontario to tackle the Housing crisis currently plaguing Ontario.

– Parkdale—High Park NDP MPP Cheri DiNovo joined with hundreds of west end Toronto parents and toddlers on the front lawn of the Legislative Assembly this morning to protest against the McGuinty government’s plan to allow up to 400 diesel trains to pollute their neighbourhoods each and every day.

NDP MPP Cheri DiNovo isn’t impressed by Dalton McGuinty’s latest plan to turn Ontarians into consumers of mass-produced electric cars.

“This is Diesel Dalton at his worst,” says DiNovo, who attended a press conference this morning where McGuinty promised to create a consumer incentive program for electric cars to be produced in the United States by General Motors.

NDP Housing Critic Cheri DiNovo said today that the government’s failure to meet its existing affordable housing commitments does not inspire trust and confidence in the newly launched Affordable Housing consultations.

MPP Cheri DiNovo today called on GO Transit to keep its promise to reduce the West Toronto diamond pile driving project 50 per cent by June 8th, 2009.

“GO’s representative misspoke when they promised a 50 percent reduction in pile driving noise—and when they said vibratory hammers were not a viable alternative,” said DiNovo.
