A prominent local businessman and engineer, Jay Sarkar is the President and CEO of Sartrex, a high-tech instrumentation company that employs 64 people.
An active member of Toronto’s Bengali community, Jay is the local president of the Prabafi Bengali Cultural Association (PBCA) and principal chair of next year’s international PBCA conference in Toronto, attracting 10,000 delegates to the city.
Jay is committed to advocating for lifelong learning, he is a member of the Canadian Adult and Community Education Alliance, he is in demand as a speaker to other small business owners and participates in a wide range of cultural events.
Jay has been married to his wife Chitra for 30 years, and is immensely proud of his two grown children. He is looking forward to representing Scarborough Southwest and standing up for the working families of his community at Queen’s Park.
